On this day in history Lady Jane Grey, granddaughter to Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk & Mary Tudor, dowager Queen of France – sister to Henry Vlll.

Edward Vl attempted to change the line of succession with his, “My devise for the succession.” (see image below)

Jane reluctantly accepted the crown of England and was queen for only nine days (but really 13).
